ACPT

It feels weird not to be gearing up for the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament, which starts in 6 days. I had a great time there last year and I fully expected it to become an annual tradition. But due to my daughter's upcoming nuptials and other financial considerations I am reluctantly forced to sit this one out. Good luck to everyone participating this year, but beware: I will be back in '09.

I'm shooting for '09 too. You need to keep your eyes on the prize anyway, which is getting your daughter working on that Sloopy grandchild! ;)

I haven't given up, but realistically I have a better chance of winning the ACPT and a Pulitzer Prize for this blog than I do of convincing my daughter to name her firstborn "Sloopy."
See you in '09.

I have been deficient in my blog reading. Mea culpa.

Your post about Cindy was beautiful, but I opted to comment in one place...and this is it.

I'm looking forward to meeting you in '09 (and Wendy, although she probably won't see this). Whoever travels the shortest distance to Brooklyn can buy dinner...I think we're both safe with that one ; )

Sounds good. Whoever travels the shortest distance buys dinner -- whoever travels the farthest buys drinks. : )
